Broken part. No drawings. No supplier.
We rebuild it as a fully editable CAD model — and tell you why it failed in the first place.
German-trained mechanical and structural engineering. Based in Melbourne. Serving Victoria and beyond.
Sound familiar?
- The machine is down and the part has been discontinued.
- The original manufacturer no longer exists, or won't supply the drawings.
- The OEM quoted a twelve-week lead time from overseas.
- The only drawing you have is a photocopy from 1987.
- The part keeps failing, and nobody has asked why.
Every one of these is solvable. Usually in days, not months.
From physical part to manufacturing-ready file
Reverse Engineering
We digitise your component with high-resolution 3D scanning and rebuild it as a parametric CAD model. Not a mesh. Not a surface copy. A real solid model your team can edit, dimension and manufacture from — indefinitely.
Structural & Mechanical Design
Frames, brackets, supports, platforms, guarding and steel structures. Designed to standard, documented properly, and detailed for the workshop that has to build it.
Engineering Consulting
Failure analysis, material selection, design review and European standards interpretation. The engineering judgement that sits behind the drawing.
German Technical Liaison
Most industrial machinery on Australian sites is European. We read the original German documentation, identify the correct part numbers from the manufacturer's catalogue, and deal directly with the German supplier in their own language and time zone. When the part is no longer available, we reverse engineer it locally instead.
We're engineers, not scanner operators
We ask why it failed
Anyone can copy a broken part. Copying it faithfully means reproducing the flaw that broke it. We identify the failure mode — stress concentration, wrong material, fatigue, wear — and correct it.
We improve, not just replicate
The part is being digitised anyway. That is the right moment to fix the weak radius, upgrade the material, or simplify the manufacture.
German engineering background
Most industrial machinery in Australian plants is European. We read the original German documentation, work natively to DIN and VDI standards, and can deal directly with European suppliers on your behalf.
Editable files, not dead geometry
You receive a parametric model with a full feature tree, in your CAD system's native format. Change a dimension in ten seconds — without coming back to us.
Your machine is German. Your documentation is German. Your supplier is asleep.
The situation is familiar on almost every Australian industrial site:
- The manual, the parts catalogue and the drawings are all in German.
- The manufacturer is eight hours behind, and email in broken English goes unanswered.
- Nobody on site can tell which of the four similar part numbers is the right one.
- The OEM replies that the component was discontinued in 2019.
- Read and interpret German technical documentation, catalogues and manuals
- Identify the correct original part number from the manufacturer's own material
- Contact the German supplier directly, in German, and negotiate the order
- Interpret DIN, VDI, VDE and EN standards referenced in the documentation
- Translate operating and maintenance instructions into usable English
That is the point at which most enquiries stop. For us it is the point at which the real work starts: we scan the component, rebuild it as a manufacturing-ready CAD model, and you have it made locally in days rather than waiting months for an import that may never come.
This service needs no equipment and no lead time. If you have a German document in front of you right now, send it through.
Five steps, start to finish
Send us the part or a photo
No drawings needed. A photo and rough dimensions are enough to quote.
We scan
On-site at your plant, or at our workspace. Cast, machined, dark and reflective surfaces included.
We rebuild
Scan data becomes a clean parametric CAD model — real cylinders, real holes, real dimensions.
We verify
Material, loads and failure mode reviewed. Improvements proposed where they matter.
You receive
Native CAD files, neutral formats (STEP, IGES), and 2D manufacturing drawings with tolerances.
Who we work with
Manufacturing & Industrial Workshops
Legacy production equipment, tooling, jigs, fixtures and discontinued spares.
Mining & Heavy Equipment
Wear parts, castings, structural components and site-critical spares where downtime costs more than the part.
Food Processing & Packaging
Line components, guarding, change parts and hygiene-compliant redesign.
Marine & Renewable Energy
Structural steel components, foundations and offshore assets — backed by six years of offshore wind foundation design experience in Germany.
Automotive & Motorsport
Restoration parts, obsolete components, custom brackets and one-off fabrication support.
You receive, as standard
Every project
- Native CAD model (Inventor, SOLIDWORKS or your platform)
- Neutral exchange formats: STEP, IGES, Parasolid
- 2D manufacturing drawings with dimensions and tolerances
- Material and process recommendation
- Design review notes, where relevant
German Technical Liaison work
- Part identification report with the original manufacturer's part numbers
- Correspondence handled directly with the supplier
- Translated extracts of the relevant documentation
- Availability, lead time and pricing confirmed in writing
Send us a photo. That's all we need to start.
Email a photo of the part with rough dimensions. We'll come back within 24 hours with an assessment and a fixed price.
